Book Review by Thomas Morin
In the human
empowerment workshops that I participated in during the last decade of 2001,
I observed numerous people who professed to be doing the higher
work but were not at all congruent with the lower chakra work, choosing
the seemingly higher way as a short cut to doing the work (and
sometimes pain) of the clearing, healing and empowerment of the lower Chakras.
They were always Joe or Jill cool. They denied their anger, stuffed their
sexuality and by their own admissions, lived lives of quiet despair.
Healing America - chakra by chakra - follows a path of ancient wisdom. We
suppress our lower chakras, mistakenly thinking that these regions are
about a 'lower nature'. Yet, nearly 40% of our body mass is made up of the
lower chakras. This is a tremendous amount of energy and power that we render
unavailable.
Wheels of Light explores the seven chakras, or energy centers, of the
body with particular focus on the first chakra, which has to do with our
basic life force, our physical bodies, and our sexuality.
Drawing on scientific research, Native American culture, the ancient
traditions of the Egyptians and Greeks, the philosophies of the Hindus, and
the religions of the East, Rosalyn L. Bruyere presents a unique perspective
on the value and healing potential of the chakra system.
Author Biography
"It
has taken thousands of years, but within this century both scientists and
spiritual seekers alike have once again begun to view the laws of nature and
the laws of God as reflections of the same truth" ~ Rosalyn L.

Rosalyn L.
Bruyere is an internationally acclaimed healer, clairvoyant and medicine
woman. Her frequent collaborations with physicians and scientists reflect her
belief that healing and health should be a cooperative effort between
patient, physician and healer. Her combined scientific and spiritual focus
influences both her teaching and writing style and serves to bridge the gap
between concept and reality.
Dual
involvement in research and healing has provided a primary inspiration for
Rosalyn's work. Using her skills in perceiving and interpreting auric
phenomenon, she was instrumental in research conducted at UCLA with Dr.
Valerie Hunt. It was here Rosalyn's capacity to "read" the human
energy field was first noted. Her ability to see patterns of disease and
behavior in exquisite detail and to energetically transform tissue at a
cellular level has brought her worldwide attention and a reputation as one of
the nation's most successful healers.
Acknowledged by the keepers of medicine and shamanic traditions on several
continents, Rosalyn is committed to learning, practicing and preserving the
ancient ways. The grace with which she moves between cultures, honors their
sacred traditions and gathers knowledge from varying disciplines has made
Rosalyn a welcome and honored guest in Hopi Kiva, African hut and Tibetan
temple alike. Founder and director of the Healing Light Center Church,
Reverend Bruyere has committed her life to the teaching of these sacred and
ancient disciplines, thereby providing her students with practical tools for
living the spiritual life, while introducing them to the venerable traditions
from which those tools are derived.
